Mexican Hot Chocolate

Have you ever tried making hot chocolate in a slow cooker? For this Mexican hot chocolate recipe, the slow cooker is perfect for heating the milk and allowing the cinnamon and cloves to infuse, giving the hot chocolate a warm, spiced flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 115 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3 drops almond extract
  • whipped cream, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Pour the milk into the slow cooker along with the cinnamon stick and cloves. Heat the milk with the spices for 1 hour on high.
  • Next, add the chocolate and almond extract and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  • Whisk with an electric mixer until the hot chocolate becomes frothy.
  • Serve with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
