Fruit Salad
Here is a beautiful, simple, and fresh recipe! My grandfather always added a bit of rum to his fruit salad, so I’m carrying on the tradition. You can substitute the fruits in this recipe with the same quantity of other fruits, depending on what’s in season.
Ingredients
- 1 kiwi, diced
- 1 nectarine, diced
- ½ cup blueberries
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and quartered
- ¾ cup grapes, halved
- 1 tbsp rum (I use alcohol-free rum)
Instructions
- Place all the fruit in a bowl and drizzle with the rum.
- In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar with 2 tablespoons of water over low heat, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour the syrup over the fruit.
- Let macerate for at least 20 minutes.
- Serve.
